Ruby Sky Coaching Who doesn't love a podcast? Ruby Sky Coaching

My day tends to start with a dog walk and if I am walking alone (with dogs obviously!) I will always listen to a podcast while I walk.  I'm told by my long suffering dog trainer Paul that I should really use this time to work with my dogs and keep them focused on me.

Well yes, he's clearly right but that hour in the morning is really important to me.  It's time for me to get fresh air, exercise and also to broaden my mind.  Most of the podcasts I listen to do have some sort of connection to my work but some are just for fun.  I also find that I think better when listening to something else!  Obviously that sounds rather contradictory but the noise in my head seems to allow thought.  I am one of those people who can't have silence.  The first thing I do when I walk into a room is turn on the radio or TV.  I don't actually listen to them but I find slience deafening and background noise helps me focus and concentrate or even relax.  Of course if I am doing something intricate which needs total concentration of the mind, I do turn off the radio.

So which are my favourite podcasts?

It's so hard to choose a few but the podcasts that I listen to religiously are:

  1. How to fail - Elizabeth Day
  2. Table Manners - Jesse and Lennie Ware
  3. The Diary of a CEO - Steven Bartlett
  4. Sliding Doors - Jennie Becker
  5. Life Changing - Radio 4
  6. It can't just be me - Anna Richardson
  7. The Coaching Crowd - Jo Wheatley and Zoe Hawkins

Podcasts often trigger titles for my blogs and subjects that I go off and research.  Or I send them to my daughters or friends if I think they will enjoy them.

So my question "Who doesn't love a podcast?" is surely - no-one who has ever found one that they love!

And if you haven't yet found the podcast that you turn to when you need something to uplift you, make you laugh, educate you or just keep you company on a long drive or walk, sign up for my newsletter as I will be recommending THINGS I LIKE TO LISTEN TO.

Of course it is very possible that my taste does not match yours but if you have never tried podcasts, this could be the time to start.  There is something for everyone!
